He died of tuberculosis in Holies Street, Cavendish Square, London, on 23 Dec. 1739, aged about 45, and was buried in Marylebone church.


Louis Chéron

In 1718, Chéron and John Vanderbank split from Godfrey Kneller's Great Queen Street Academy (where they were both teaching) to form their own St. Martin's Lane Academy.

Louis Goupy

He subscribed in 1711 to the Great Queen Street Academy begun under Sir Godfrey Kneller, but seceded from it in 1720 to the St Martin's Lane Academy begun by Louis Chéron and John Vanderbank.
