There is an ongoing campaign to rename the station "Paisley St Mirren" due the station's proximity to St. Mirren F.C.'s new stadium.
The 1993 Scottish Challenge Cup Final, also known as the B&Q Cup Final for sponsorship reasons, was an association football match between Falkirk and St. Mirren on 12 December 1993 at Fir Park in Motherwell.
It saw Coventry pitted with 1986–87 Scottish Cup winners St. Mirren, however poor attendances at the first leg (a 1–1 draw at Highfield Road) meant that the revival was halted, and the second leg was never played.
Born in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Greenlees started his professional career with nearby St. Mirren where he gained a reputation as "one of the best half-backs in Scotland".
He also played for Scottish Football League clubs Ayr and St. Mirren, and for Southern League clubs Brighton United, Gravesend United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford.
In 2001 Coventry sent him on loan to Scottish Premier League club St. Mirren, who had hoped to sign Ronaldinho, but instead settled for the young hopeful McPhee.
