Caspar de Robles or Gaspard di Robles (Madrid, 1527 – Antwerp, 1585) also known as Billy in Artois, was Stadholder of Friesland and Groningen at the beginning of the Eighty Years' War (reign: 1568 to 1576).
(Rumour had it that an earlier bullet had hit him in his private parts.) Pieter Paulus in 1773 gained national recognition through his book on the stadholder system, in which he took opposition against the Duke of Brunswick.
From 1573 he returned to the Netherlands where he became court chaplain of the stadholder William the Silent, and presided over his marriage on 15 July, 1575 to Charlotte de Bourbon, in the Grote Kerk, Den Briel.
