He first studied literature, but then moved to take courses in the Royal Institute of Fine Arts of Naples, studying design under professor Stanislao Lista, and paintings and a course of decoration with Ignazio Perricci.
His first master was the watercolor artist Giovanni Giordano Lanza (1827-1889), then he briefly studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, then he went to work in the studio under Stanislao Lista.
After learning the art of wood carving at courses held by the Società Centrale Operaia Napoletana and working in the studio of Stanislao Lista, Migliaro enrolled in 1875 at the Naples Institute of Fine Arts, where his masters included Domenico Morelli.
He first studied under Gaetano D'Agostino, but later enrolled at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Naples, where he studied under Filippo Palizzi, Domenico Morelli and Stanislao Lista.
