During his sojourn in Serbia at Visoki Dečani, he wrote a biography of Stephen Uroš III Dečanski of Serbia, hymn for the church service honoring Stefan of Dečani, a report on the transfer of the remnants of Saint Paraskeva to Serbia, and he also rewrote the Service to St. Petka (Paraskeva).

In 1314, heir apparent Stephen Uroš III was exiled to Constantinople after quarrels with his father King Stephen Uroš II Milutin.

After the failed rebellion by his younger brother Stephen Uroš III (1314), and the death of his uncle Stephen Dragutin in 1316, Konstantin was given the title Young King, and ruled Zeta; as de facto intended heir, though his father had not officially proclaimed him as such in the state assembly.
