Byrd's first major work in comics was the book Cat and Mouse, working with Steven Butler and Roland Mann.
Spaziante was a member of a group along with Ken Penders and Steven Butler known collectively as "The Sonic Team" (not to be confused with "Sonic Team", the original creators of the franchise), because of their extensive work on the series.
The first story to use the designs was "Bad Boy Trouble," which Butler also drew, and the second was "The Matchmakers," which was drawn by Joe Staton.

In 1999 he also illustrated 3 tracts for wrestler George South entitled The Greatest Match Ever, Who is Your Tag-Team Partner?, and Who Are You Wrestling Against?, packaged by The Nate Butler Studio and published by PowerMark Productions.
