The theoretical basis of Stirling's engine, the Stirling cycle, would not be fully understood until the work of Sadi Carnot (1796–1832).
This includes the original Stirling engine that was invented, developed and patented in 1816 by Reverend Dr. Robert Stirling with help from his brother, an engineer.
The array of Trochilic engine ranging from Stirling cycle, internal combustion, to high-pressure gas or steam and with adaptive alterations to gaseous or fluid pumping.
