In 1916, Abraham and wife Lena moved to the Cleveland suburb of Lakewood, Ohio to manage the creamery business and, in 1922, Abraham resigned as president of the creamery to manage one of the company's dairy stands located on the lower floor of the Cleveland Arcade.

Abraham Stouffer was born January 8, 1781 near Chambersburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Abraham Stauffer (1747–1809) and Barbara Hershey (1750–1795).
Stouffer and his wife, Sue Ellen, currently live on their family farm in Saline County, Napton, Missouri, where Stouffer has been an active farmer since 1967.
Dr. Stouffer also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Educational Leadership department at Drake University, and he has served on the Board of Directors for several area non-profit organizations.
The Millennium Hotel Cincinnati had been previously operated under numerous brand names such as Regal, Clarion and Stouffer.
