Strange Interlude, a nine-act, Pulitzer Prize winning play by Eugene O'Neill, was presented at the Theatre Guild on April 28, 1930.
Anders had a distinguished career on Broadway, appearing in three Pulitzer Prize winning plays: Hell Bent for Heaven (1924), written by Hatcher Hughes; They Knew What They Wanted (1924) by Sidney Howard; and Strange Interlude (1928) by Eugene O'Neill.
In the early talkie era he played such leading roles in such productions as Strange Interlude in 1932 and Rasputin and the Empress also in 1932.
