Structured analysis

SA and SD were accompanied by notational methods including structure charts, data flow diagrams and data model diagrams, of which there were many variations, including those developed by Tom DeMarco, Ken Orr, Larry Constantine, Vaughn Frick, Ed Yourdon, Steven Ward, Peter Chen, and others.

Data flow diagrams were invented by Larry Constantine, developer of structured design, based on Martin and Estrin's "data flow graph" model of computation.


ISO/IEC 42010

Viewpoints have a long history in software and systems engineering, dating back at least to the 1970s in Ross' Structured Analysis.

Ken Orr

Kenneth T. (Ken) Orr (born ca 1939) is an American software engineer, executive and consultant, known for his contributions in the field of software engineering to structured analysis and with the Warnier/Orr diagram.
