Artifacts from "Temple of Fame" were featured in his first New York solo exhibition at Stefan Stux Gallery in 2001 entitled "SuperGymnast", reviewed in the New York Times.
She currently shows with Stux Gallery in New York, Gallery Quang in Paris, Galleri S.E in Norway, Tokyo Terra in Japan and Gallery Isabel Aninat in Chile.
In the 80s, Toynton quit his teaching job and moved to New York City, where he showed his work in a wide variety of venues, including the Brooklyn Museum, the Hunter College Gallery, the Ruth Siegel Gallery, the John Good Gallery, the Stux Gallery and the Daniel Newburg Gallery.
In 1987, Serrano's Piss Christ was exhibited at the Stux Gallery in New York and was favorably received.
