The program has also been honored by the John Philip Sousa Foundation with the coveted Sudler Flag of Honor recognizing Duncanville as a Nationally Exemplary Band Program.
The Alice High School band was one of the first five schools to be awarded the Sudler Flag of Honor by John Philip Sousa Foundation and is listed on their national Roll of Honor for high school bands in existence between 1960 and 1980.
The school's band program was recognized in 1997 with the Sudler Flag of Honor by the John Philip Sousa Foundation.
The Woodlands High School Band was honored by the John Philip Sousa Foundation with the Sudler Flag of Honor in 2003 to recognize its high standards of excellence in its concert activities over several years.
