Carrick-on-Suir

In 1649, the town was taken by English Parliamentarians during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland.

The town was also the inspiration for the 16th-century song, Cailín ó chois na Siúire mé, which is attested to in 1595 and mentioned in Shakespeare's Henry V AS Caleno custure me.

All these six were from Thurles except Foley, who like Davin was from Carrick-on-Suir.

The club is one of three GAA clubs in the town of Carrick-on-Suir, the others being Carrick Davins and Carrick Swan.
