Khalili was known for his innovation into the Geltaftan Earth-and-Fire System known as Ceramic Houses and the Earthbag Construction technique called Superadobe.
The technique’s current pioneer is Nader Khalili who originally developed the Superadobe system in 1984 in response to a NASA call for housing designs for future human settlements on the Moon and on Mars.
The big difference between the two is that Superadobe uses woven polypropylene bags with barbed wire between the layers, whereas Hyperadobe uses a knit raschel, the same material used in packaging fruit.
