Bleuler's most notable contribution was the introduction of Gupta–Bleuler formalism for the quantization of the electromagnetic field, which he developed independently with Suraj N. Gupta.
Later he worked in various areas of quantum field theory and elementary particle physics, including quantum chromodynamics and Quarkonium.

After serving as the director of Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, India for five years and director, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow for over ten years, he is currently working as distinguished biotechnologist at the Central Drug Research Institute.

He has extensively contributed in the areas of drug targeting in parasitic diseases and membrane phospholipids transbilayer dynamics, and is currently working on elucidation of actin cytoskeletal network in Leishmania.
His days in Banaras were spent under the guidance of Madan Mohan Malviya and with fellow students such as Ram Manohar Lohia, Rudra Dutt Bharadwaj, Janardan Jha, and Brij Lal.
She has trained officers promoted from Group B to Group A, on office procedure, auditing, leadership, communication skills and foundation training programme conducted by National Institute of Communication Finance.
