It has featured in translated versions in several Indian movies, in both Tamil- notably the Sivaji Ganesan vehicle Thanga Padhakkam - and Hindi- it was sung by Asha Bhosle in Parmatma.
He has also sung a few Sinhala songs such as "Kalu Nano", "Rosi Ogaiya", and "Meter Song (Sinhala version of Why This Kolaveri Di). He rapidly grew to fame after his remix on the Sri Lankan classic baila song "Surangani", titled "Surangani Remix", which is a bilingual song (Tamil & Sinhala). He then went on to create a fully Tamil version titled "Aathichudi", and this became a very famous and popular song in Tamil Nadu.
