Jörn Donner has for long periods lived and worked in Sweden, and has, among other things, serving as director of the Swedish Film Institute.
In the early 1990s he was the mayor of Malmö, and then president of the Swedish Film Institute before receiving his first government appointment in 1998.
The institute is housed in the Filmhuset building located in Gärdet, Östermalm in Stockholm.
