After four seasons in the I-AHL, the team was acquired by Louis M. Jacobs, owner of Jacob's Concessions, and relocated to Buffalo, New York to play as the Buffalo Bisons.

After finishing in second place in the International Association in 1878, the Syracuse Stars joined the rival National League for the 1879 baseball season.
Between 1897 and 1900, Schebeck played in the Eastern League for the Syracuse Stars (1897) and Montreal Royals (1898–1900).
Thevenow was acquired by the Cardinals on September 3, 1924, when he was purchased from the Syracuse Stars of the Class AA International League, where he played 140 games that season.
