Henri Miro

Born in Tarrega, Spain, Miro began his musical education under Padre Domingo de Guzman at the monastery of Montserrat.

Tàrrega

Higher up are the ruins of the castle of Count Ramon Berenguer, constructed in 1056.


Capella de Ministrers

Along with another Valencian early music group Victoria Musicae directed by Josep R. Gil-Tàrrega, the Capella de Ministrers receives significant local government support from the Valencian Community (la Generalitat Valenciana).

Francisco Tárrega

In 1881, Tárrega played in the Opera Theatre in Lyon and then the Paris Odeon, in the bicentenary of the death of Pedro Calderón de la Barca.

He is the composer of what has been claimed to be "probably the world's most heard tune": the Nokia ringtone, Nokia tune, also used in advertising spots, is based on Tárrega's Gran Vals.
