Okoshi has served as president of the Institute of Television Engineers and the IEICE (The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers), and vice president of the Engineering Academy of Japan and the International Union of Radio Science (URSI).

His bachelor's thesis work, "The Generation of Millimeter Waves by Harmonic Generators" was published in the journal of the Institute of Electrical Communications Engineers of Japan.
