The Latin name of the species means "with leaves of tansy" because of the similarity of the leaves with some species of the genus Tanacetum.
Some of the plants which may be found in this area are field chickweed (Cerastium arvense), felt-leaved willow (Salix silicicola), Mackenzie hairgrass (Deschampsia mackenzieana), Tyrrell’s willow (Salix planifolia tyrrellii), and floccose tansy (Tanacetum huronense var. floccosum).
The larvae feed on a wide range of plants, including Artemisia campestris, Matricaria, Aster, Anthemis, Solidago, Chrysanthemum, Alchemilla, Helichrysum and Tanacetum species.
They feed on a wide variety of plants and grasses, including Achillea millefolium, wormwood (Artemisia), carrot (Daucus), tansy (Tanacetum), Inula and hawkweed (Hieracium).
