A number of pupils shared his scientific views and became professors in leading Italian universities: among them Francesco Arcucci, Alberto Arienti, Alberto Bertoni, Tancredi Bianchi, Sergio Bortolani, Claudio Demattè, Arnaldo Mauri, Paolo Mottura, Marco Onado, Antonio Pin and Roberto Ruozi.
The music was adapted, with the composer's permission, by the music-publisher Antonio Pacini from Rossini's operas Semiramide, La Cenerentola, La gazza ladra, Tancredi and Zelmira in order to introduce his music to Paris.
Tancredi became professor to Academy of Fine Arts and was knighted into the Order of the Crown of Italy.
He has recorded four solo CDs with Virgin Classics and is additionally featured, along with Patrizia Ciofi and Topi Lehtipuu, on the recording of Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Claudio Monteverdi, conducted by Emmanuelle Haïm.
The character Sara Tancredi was portrayed by Sarah Wayne Callies who was the first actress the producers saw at the audition for the role.
