E10 European long distance path

The E10 European long distance path or E10 path is one of the European long-distance paths, running from Finland through Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and France to finish at Tarifa on the south coast of Spain.

MV Fedra

Spanish sources said that some fuel from the Fedra had washed up on some Campo beaches having drifted as far as Tarifa.

Tarifa

Winters are much warmer than those of continental Spain - a phenomenon also due to its southerly location - and summers are cooler than most of the country - the average daily high in the hottest month, August, is only 24°C, significantly cooler than the temperatures experienced further inland in the Guadalquivir valley, and also a little cooler than those felt further East along the Mediterranean coast in places such as Málaga and Almería.

Ninth Siege of Gibraltar

In 1462, Alonso de Arcos, alcaide (Military Governor) of Tarifa, Rodrigo Ponce de León, son and heir of the Count of Arcos, and Juan Alonso de Guzmán, Duke of Medina Sidonia, attacked and gained control of the town of Gibraltar in the Eighth Siege of Gibraltar.
