His first World Cup competition after his comeback was in Tauplitz on 9 January 2010, and his fourth place score on that day was his best World Cup result to date.
He then reached the top ten for the first time in a World Cup race, with a tenth place in ski flying in Tauplitz.
In the World Cup he finished three times among the top 30, his best result being a 25th place from Tauplitz in March 2003.
In 2010 he celebrated his second World Cup victory at Tauplitz, Austria.
