Several albums were released including music from Sega, Konami, Hudson, Capcom, and Tecmo games.
A popular and commonly discussed feature, one credited to Tomonobu Itagaki, was the level of graphical detail Tecmo put into the animated breasts of the female characters, as Tecmo went so far as to create a physics engine dedicated entirely to the animation of the female characters' breasts.
Originally announced by Koei in 2004 (before their merger with Tecmo made them Tecmo Koei), the game is based on an unfinished script by legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa titled Oni (named for a type of Japanese demon).
At the end of the feature rock band Anthrax members Charlie Benante and Frank Bello were shown with Tecmo developer Jason Magness playing Ninja Gaiden II in a private showing.
Shou also appears in a minor role in another fighting video game adaptation, DOA: Dead or Alive, based on Tecmo's video game series of the same name, produced by Mortal Kombat director Paul W. S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt.
