He received a teaching certificate from the local rabbinical college, and became a school teacher in some of the smaller towns that housed major yeshivas, including Ponivezh and Telz.
Rabinovich studied in Israel and later in the United States at the Telshe yeshiva in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rabbi Keller, together with Rabbi Avraham Chaim Levin, were hand-picked by the leadership of the Telshe yeshiva in Cleveland to oversee the establishment of a similar yeshiva devoted to serious Talmudic studies in Chicago in 1960.
