Arthur Guy Empey

He left the United States at the end of 1915 frustrated at its neutrality in the conflict at that point and travelled to London, England, where he joined the 1st London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), Territorial Force, of the British Army, going on to serve with it in the 56th (London) Infantry Division on the Western Front as a bomber and a machine-gunner.

Derbyshire Yeomanry

In 1908 it was transferred into the Territorial Force, returning to a cavalry role and equipping as dragoons, under the new title of The Derbyshire Yeomanry.

John McAusland Denny

During the First World War he was chairman of the Dumbartonshire Territorial Force Association, and became an honorary colonel in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.


Edward James Montagu-Stuart-Wortley

Between 1908 to 1912 he commanded the 10th Infantry Brigade at Shorncliffe Army Camp and in 1914 became the commanding officer of the 46th (North Midland) Division Territorial Force.

George Baillie-Hamilton, Lord Binning

He retired from the army in 1907, but remained in the Territorial Force as commanding officer of the Lothian and Border Horse, and served as His Majesty´s Lieutenant of the County of Berwick from 1901 until he died.

Ordnance QF 15-pounder

The gun was used by Royal Horse Artillery batteries of Territorial Force cavalry units (Yeomanry) early in World War I, most notably in the campaign in Egypt against the Senussi by A Battery, Honourable Artillery Company and the Nottinghamshire RHA.
