He played in all three Test matches of that tour playing a few dogged innings (39 and 49 in the 3rd Test at Lahore) however he managed to take one wicket (1 for 26 in the 3rd Test).
Test match cricket seemed to have passed him by when he went to South Africa as part of the rebel tour led by Graham Gooch in 1982, which also earned him a three-year Test ban.
