During the finale, broadcast a week later on January 9, Pakarinen performed Tina Turner's The Best, the Bangles' Eternal Flame and the coronation song made especially for the Idols winner, Tulin Voittamaan ("I Came to Win").
This is a reference to the song of the same name performed by The Bangles.

Since 1998 was the height of the whole Girl Power movement, the girls, who were known for parodying secular songs in their concerts, built a whole set about the women of the Bible, parodying songs by Aretha Franklin, The Chordettes, The Bangles, Cyndi Lauper and the Spice Girls.
Though the line-up changed several times, at one point the band comprised a kind of college rock/indie-rock/power-pop supergroup, including as it did Peter Holsapple of the dB's, Mark Walton of The Dream Syndicate, Bangle Vicki Peterson and Susan Cowsill of The Cowsills.
He was a classmate and neighbor of John Hoffs, the brother of Susanna Hoffs, who would eventually become the lead singer of the all-girl band The Bangles.
The band list their influences, both past and present, as Sweet, Redd Kross, The Go-Gos, X, The Clash, Joan Jett, The Bangles, The Runaways and Sonny and Cher.
Some additional tracks features other unreleased songs such as Mothgirl, Bad Day and Journey, and during the Drastic Fantastic Tour, Tunstall covered La Vie En Rose, which is on the U.K Bonus tracks, My Sharona, The Bangles' Walk Like An Egyptian and Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody which features on the DVD.
"Going Down To Liverpool" is a song written by Kimberley Rew for his group Katrina and The Waves, although best remembered by a cover done by The Bangles.
Over the objections of his bandmates and his record label, Slash Records/Warner Bros., frontman Mike Doughty (then billed as "M. Doughty") hired producer David Kahne (Fishbone, The Bangles, Sublime, Tony Bennett, Sugar Ray, The Strokes); he was intent on following up the wild sonics of Ruby Vroom with a tightly-wound, trembly, New Wave inspired record.
The group survived a slow career climb by tours of RAF bases and Canadian club gigs, then teamed up with producers Pat Collier and Scott Litt to record Rew compositions "Going Down to Liverpool", covered by The Bangles, and in 1985 "Walking on Sunshine", which became the group's first and biggest hit, and only evergreen, remaining firmly in the public consciousness through frequent radio plays, appearances in films, advertising, etc.
In 2010, K-Earth began adding songs from the late 1980s and early 1990s into its mix from artists such as Janet Jackson, The Bangles, Deniece Williams and The Police.
The album was produced by Paul Tarnopol and includes music by Simple Minds, INXS, Modern English, The Bangles, Eurythmics, Howard Jones, John Parr, General Public, Oingo Boingo, Wang Chung, Thompson Twins, Sheena Easton, Nick Heyward and Spandau Ballet.
"Live" was covered by The Bangles in on their 1984 album All Over the Place and "Time Will Show The Wiser" was recorded by Fairport Convention on their debut album in 1968, a song still played regularly by Fairport at their Cropredy Festival.
The 1970s Memphis cult band Big Star, whose "September Gurls" was covered by The Bangles, was also influential, as were Britain's Soft Boys.
Pelle continued to dig into the scene working as hired guitarist for producers like Patrick Leonard (Madonna, Elton John, Pink Floyd), Polarbear (Korn, Bootsy Collins, Snoop Dogg), Marc Jameson (Christina Aguilera, Felix da housecat), Redcola (commercials for Nike, Ford, Kodak etc.), and Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, The Bangles, Pete Yorn).
After The Bangles disbanded in 1989, Peterson played with the Continental Drifters and The Psycho Sisters, in both cases alongside Susan Cowsill.
