The Burglars

Le Casse (US title: The Burglars) is a 1971 movie directed by French director Henri Verneuil, starring Jean-Paul Belmondo, Omar Sharif and Robert Hossein.

Follows a chase between Azad and the corrupt cop through Athens' streets which culminates to the final scene which will be later borrowed by Witness in 1982.

When Abel Zacharia (Omar Sharif), the Athenian police chief, surprises Azad's car in front of Tasco's house on the night of the robbery, he decides to let Azad and his team go, hoping he could retrieve the emeralds for himself.
