The Drift

Apart from composing the soundtrack to the film Pola X, the album was Walker's first studio album in eleven years and only his third studio album since the final disbanding of The Walker Brothers in 1978.

1942 WANFL season

Whilst the previous two seasons had been increasingly affected by the drift of players to the services, the 1941/1942 off-season saw the Imperial Japanese Navy and air force move into the north of Western Australia, bombing many northwestern settlements.

A2022 road

The A2022 becomes Fir Tree Road and heads west, passes within 50m of Banstead railway station in the Nork locality westwards; then it stops at the crossroads by the Drift Bridge, 500m short of Epsom Downs railway station, where it co-runs with the A240 and faces the B291 (also Fir Tree Road).

Edward W Nelson
