In addition to Russell, the label signed other talents, such as Tulsa Sound artists J. J. Cale, The Gap Band, and Dwight Twilley Band, as well as Lyons and Clark, Freddie King, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Phoebe Snow, and The Grease Band.
Jackie Harris was used to mime Penny Ford's voice in the video "The Power" and left the group shortly after and Penny Ford became its full-time lead singer, recording the second single "Ooops Up", a re-working of "I Don't Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance (Ooops!)", a 1980 hit by The Gap Band, with which Penny was a former backing singer.
The band has played gigs all over the UK as well as in many other European countries alongside a number of high profile artists such as DJ Vadim, Finley Quaye, Kele Le Roc, Jungle Brothers, Aquasky, Foreign Beggars, High Contrast, Bugz in the Attic, and The Gap Band who feature as the brass section on True Ingredients' single Who's Next?.
This song featured the Gap Band's lead singer, Charlie Wilson, who worked extensively with Snoop on the whole Tha Doggfather album.
