"This Disco (Used To Be A Cute Cathedral)" was inspired by the New York Limelight Club which was in operation from 1983-2003.

Andre Melendez

Melendez became a drug dealer during the early 1990s after he met Peter Gatien, owner of the Limelight Club in New York, and became a regular dealer in Gatien's clubs.

Slimelight

The name comes from the fact that for a brief period in the summer of 1987 the club was held in a disused church on High Holborn, and "The Slimelight" is a parody of The Limelight, another famous club of that era which was also located in a church in London's Shaftesbury Avenue.
