She died on 27 October 2009 at the age of 65, at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.

Mary McGlory now runs a Hamburg-based company called Ja/Nein Musicverlag (which translates as "Yes/No Music Publishing.") She is married to one of her former colleagues from the Star-Club: the German singer and songwriter Frank Dostal.
