A student of the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch 2001-2002, he graduated and began working at a Commercial producer for Great Northern Creative (a part of The Radio Network) in 2003 before being promoted to Imaging Producer for the ZM (New Zealand) Network in 2004.
The company was bought out by a syndicate that included The New Zealand Herald and New Zealand Listener publisher Wilson & Horton and United States radio company Clear Channel Communications; Wilson & Horton was then purchased by Ireland-based media conglomerate Independent News & Media, and onsold to Independent's Australian subsidiary APN.

In 1962, RMN's approach to broadcasting drew the interest of another visionary business leader, the late Andres Soriano Sr. of San Miguel Corporation who eventually bought the majority shares of RMN and brought the radio network to Manila, the first provincial station to do so.
The duo provided play-by-play commentary for the radio network of the Birmingham Thunderbolts of the XFL in 2001,
