The punk band The Ruts who were partners of the People Unite cooperative honoured him in their song "Jah War" which appeared on their album The Crack.

Also The Ruts, an English Punk band with reggae influences recorded a song, "S.U.S", which dealt with the same issue as Punks were commonly discriminated against by the English Constabulary.

Glossop was initially known for recording and producing new wave and punk bands such as Magazine, Public Image Ltd, The Ruts, The Skids and Penetration, but also had success working with many other artists, including Kevin Coyne, The Waterboys, Furniture, The Wonder Stuff, Frank Zappa, Paul Brady, Ian Gillan,RiTA, John Lee Hooker and Lloyd Cole.
It was used by such famous artists as Kim Wilde, The Ruts, Katrina and the Waves, New Model Army, Mari Wilson, Marillion and Paradise Lost using it on a regular basis until 1988 when the owners closed it in order to concentrate on separate musical careers.
