The band drew influences from early British punk bands such as The Undertones, Buzzcocks, The Clash, The Jam, The Boys and The Only Ones, as well as power pop acts like Nick Lowe.
The museum was a memorabilia-filled display telling the story of Irish music through exclusive and personally donated merchandise from many important Irish musical artists including Van Morrison, U2, Sinéad O'Connor, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, The Undertones and Boyzone.
Figures such as Feargal Sharkey, former lead singer of the Undertones and chairman of the UK’s Live Music Forum, Gilberto Gil, world-famous musician and Minister of Culture of Popkomm’s partner country Brazil, Claude Nobs, founder of the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival, and boy group impresario Lou Pearlman were all present at Popkomm 2006.
The album includes a number of cover songs including songs by Ryan Adams, The Undertones, The Magnetic Fields, Prefab Sprout, Sandy Denny and The Strawbs, Hot Chip, Galaxie 500, American Music Club, and Bob Dylan.
Various guests appeared on the series including The Dooleys, Bad Manners, The Undertones, and Star Wars star David Prowse (who was equally known in the UK for his persona as The Green Cross Code Man at the time).
The Waterfront, Norwich has hosted bands including Pulp, Radiohead, Marina and the Diamonds, Nirvana, The Verve, Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy, Amy Winehouse, Stereophonics, Paul Weller, Buzzcocks, Plan B, MGMT, Babyshambles, Travis, Moby, Ellie Goulding, Foals, Inspiral Carpets, The Horrors, The Cribs, The Undertones and Feeder.
The single "Can't Look Down" received a good deal of public attention: it was featured on the 2006 Bionicle Free the Band website, along with songs from the Undertones, Damone, Over It, and others; it also appeared on MTV's The Real World: Key West, "Road Rules", and in the ski film Snow Gods.
Although the Undertones were reluctant to engage in politics, after the death of Sands in 1982, guitarist Damian O'Neill wore a black armband honouring Bobby Sands when the band performed on Top of the Pops.
