The introduction to "Spoke" includes a cover version of the "Rotosound Strings" radio commercial from The Who's 1967 album The Who Sell Out.
The Who refer to the club in their song "Speakeasy" ("Speakeasy, drink easy, pull easy") from the album The Who Sell Out (1967), as does Elvis Costello in his song "London's Brilliant Parade" from the album Brutal Youth (1994).

Subsequent to A Quick One, the central riff appears again as an encore to The Who's rendition of Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King recorded during the sessions for The Who Sell Out, but Entwistle sings "Radio London" instead.
Also in 2005, Petra Haden covered "I Can See for Miles" on Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out, an album which covers The Who Sell Out in its entirety.
