February 4 – Battle of Qarabagh in Arran (Caucasus): The Aq Qoyunlu under Uzun Hassan defeat the Timurids of Samarkand under Abu Sa'id Mirza resulting in the latter's capture and execution (by Yadgar Muhammad Mirza) and abandonment of Timurid claims on Persia.
The first few years of his reign went by smoothly; all of the Moghuls were loyal to him, while the town of Kashgar, which had been captured by the Timurids after Uwais Khan had died, was retaken in 1435.
The region was conquered by a succession of neighbouring powers or invaders, including Sassanid Persians, the Byzantine Empire, the Arabs, the Seljuq Turks, the Georgians, the Mongols, the Timurids, the Kara Koyunlu and Ak Koyunlu Turkoman tribes, and finally Safavid Iran.
