These guitars were further developed by Lang and his son in his home in West Auckland suburb, Titirangi in New Zealand on the fringes of the Waitakere Ranges native kauri forest.
In the early 1960s he had an architecturally designed house built in the bush of the Waitakere Ranges at 20 Tawini Road, Titirangi, with a kiln and rail system out the back, and a low basement which allowed pottery to be exhibited.
A road, aptly named Scenic Drive, runs a good portion of the length of the ranges from Titirangi to Swanson.
Nestled in the Waitakere Ranges, Woodlands Park lies in a valley, bush clad hills separating it from Titirangi (to the north east), Parau and Huia (to the south east) and Laingholm (to the south).
