Recent years have seen the gallery continue to expand in this direction, with shows by American artists including Robert Motherwell and Helen Frankenthaler, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann and Shirley Kaneda, European painters Bram Bogart and Pia Fries, and British artists Ben Nicholson, William Tillyer, Bruce McLean, and Marc Vaux.
The collection stresses significant American artistic movements, including regionalism (with paintings by Grant Wood and Thomas Hart Benton) and Abstract Expressionism (with work by Jackson Pollock, Hans Hofmann, and Helen Frankenthaler) and Pop Art (with work by George Segal and Tom Wesselmann).
He was the Bairro Alto Art Gallery’ Arts Director and as such organized important exhibitions of reputed painters, such as Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Erró, Gerard Schlosser and Joyce Tenneson.
Posters were hung in twos alongside posters designed by famous artists chosen to represent this Olympics such as David Hockney, R. B. Kitaj, Tom Wesselmann and Allen Jones.
Other important events at the Gallery included the first Franz Kline retrospective in 1962, curated by Alice Denney, and the "Popular Image Show" in 1963 which included artists like Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Tom Wesselmann, George Brecht, Claes Oldenburg, Jim Dine, and James Rosenquist.
