Bielastok is a small village in Russia located northwest of Tomsk, Russia.
Svinhufvud refused to obey the orders of the Russian procurator Konstantin Kazansky, which he considered illegal, and this led to his removal from office as a judge and being exiled to Tomsk in Siberia in November 1914.

In terms of geographical location, there are two main agricultural centers in the fertile areas of Western Siberia, one being near the Urals in the Tobolsky District and the other located on the upper Ob River around the city of Tomsk.
The town is a railroad junction on Trans-Siberian Railway, and also the starting point of the Tayga–Bely Yar branch of the Western Siberian Railway, which provides access to Tomsk.
