Tongogara High School is 17 km to the east while Pakame Mission is 20 km to the South-West.
Tongogara High School, only 10 km from Hanke, is a government-run high school.
As one of the best post-independence secondary schools to be built in Zimbabwe, it was named after an eminent son of the soil and freedom fighter, Josiah Tongogara, as an honor to his contribution during the liberation struggle of Zimbabwe.
It is along the road between Cha Cha Cha Township or, Donga Town Ship and Tongogara High School in Shurugwi Rural Areas under the chieftainship of Chief Nhema.The school was known for its academic excellency during the late 80s and early 90s when it was used to attain a pass rate of 100% on the national grade 7 examinations set by the Ministry of Education, Zimbabwe.
