François Le Fort was a merchant, native to Vitry, France, who became a member of the Antwerp city council in the 16th century as Master of the Barber's Guild.
She became general secretary of the Co-operative Women's Guild and in 1922, she was elected to represent the Irish guildswomen on the newly formed International Women's Co-operative Committee, which came into existence at Basel.
Four statues sculpted by Lindsay Daen, in the Plazuela de la Rogativa (Rogativa Plaza) in Old San Juan, pay tribute to the bishop and townswomen who participated in La Rogativa.
