Martin No. 122 is a rural municipality in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located to the north and south of the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 200 kilometres (km) east of Regina in SARM Division No. 1.
Nine winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama, were signatories to a letter to pressure U.S. President Barack Obama to reject the $7-billion pipeline expansion project by the Canadian-based company TransCanada to build the Keystone XL.
The trip was paid for by Shell Oil, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, Transcanada, and other groups with financial interests in the Alberta tar sands and the Keystone Pipeline.
In 1995, he was appointed Executive Vice-President, Power where he had overall responsibility for the creation and management of the TransCanada subsidiary, TransCanada Power, including the creation of TransCanada Power, L.P. Prior to joining TransCanada in 1994, he held several marketing and management positions at Suncor Inc., Northridge Petroleum Marketing and Dome Petroleum.
It is 140 kilometers west of St. John's and can be reached on the TransCanada Highway and exiting at the Argentia Access Road.
In collaboration with Roy Miki, she organized "TransCanada: Literature, Institutions, Citizenship" (Vancouver, June 2005), a conference intended to spearhead a critical look at the institutional structures that inform the making and study of CanLit, as well as collaborative projects to be sponsored by the TransCanada Institute.
