In Trzebnica he was able to establish the evangelical church, even though the abbess of the Sanctuary of St. Jadwiga in Trzebnica fought fiercely against it and was supported by the bishop in Wroclaw as well as by the Emperor.
Born in Trebnitz, (today Trzebnica), Lower Silesia, Germany (today Poland) into an aristocratic family, she has three brothers and two sister and is the great-granddaughter of Georg Graf von Hertling.
It was sited on a piece of land that belonged partly to the episcopal lands of Procan (German Protzan, modern Zwrócona) and partly to the Monastery at Trzebnica (German Trebnitz).
