Tulsidas |
While he was suffering his sentence at Yerwada Central Jail, veteran freedom fighter late Tulsidas Jadhav was also suffering imprisonment for his role during the Indian freedom movement at the same prison.
•
After his release, Bhosale's engagement took place at Yerwada Central Jail with Kalavati Babasaheb Bhosale, the daughter of late Tulsidas Jadhav since late Tulsidas Jadhav was still at the Yerwada Jail.
His 12 disciples are very famous-Anantananda, Bhavananda, Dhanna Bhagat, Kabir, Nabha, Naraharyanda, Pipa, Ravidas (also known as Guru Ravidas), Bhagat Sain, Sukhanada, Ranka and Tulsidas (not to be confused with Tulsidas the author of the Ramcharitmanas, who was in turn adopted by Narharidas, a Vaishnava ascetic of Ramananda's monastic order who is believed to be the fourth disciple of Ramananda and a direct disciple of Anantacharya).
Because Tulsidas attempted to reconcile various theologies scholars like Ramchandra Shukla do not agree that he can considered to be a Ramanandi exclusively.
Pandit Ramanand along with his younger brother Pandit Shiv Kumar sang Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas, Vinaya Patrika etc. and originated, and were also the exponents of their own style called Shri Ram Darbar Shaily (style) for 60 years.
