2006 Tour of Faroes Islands

Saturday 22 July, was the 4th stage in the Island of Suðuroy, starting on Gas Station of Statoil in Tvøroyri, finished in Gas Station of Statoil in Vági.

Jón Pauli Olsen

In 2005 Jón Pauli Olsen was manager for a merged boys team from the island Suðuroy, it was called VB/TB (from Vágur and Tvøroyri), Olsen was manager together with Milan Kuljić.

Froðba has columnar basalt along the road, a famous poet Poul F. Joensen had his home in Froðba, and there is a monument there to honour him.

Vigdis Sigmundsdóttir

Vigdis Sigmundsdóttir (Tvøroyri, 1 March 1934) is an artist from the Faroe Islands, most famous internationally for producing a collage of 12 motives from Ormurin Langi (‘The Long Serpent’) that resulted in a series of stamps from Postverk Føroya released in 2006.

The circuit was the distance between: Tvøroyri – Øravík – Fámjin – Øravík – Hov – Porkeri – Vág – Lopra – Sumba, across Hestin, return to Sumba back to Vágur.

TB Tvøroyri

TB Tvøroyri used to play their home matches on Sevmýri Stadium, which is located in the eastern part of the town, near Froðba.
