Lord was elected as a Republican to the 74th, 75th and 76th United States Congresses, holding office from January 3, 1935, until his death in 1939.
In 1881 he was elected as a Republican to the 47th United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Nelson W. Aldrich and he was reelected to the Forty-eighth and to the three succeeding Congresses and served from December 5, 1881, to March 3, 1891.
Duell was elected as a Republican to the 36th and 37th United States Congresses, holding office from March 4, 1859 to March 3, 1863; during the 37th Congress he was Chairman of the Committee on Revolutionary Claims.
In 1942, Stanley was elected at-large as a Republican to the 78th United States Congress, holding office from January 3, 1943, to January 3, 1945.
