Rubach later had a brief stint with Accept vocalist Udo Dirkschneider's band U.D.O. Koemmet had been with Accept previous to their recording career and re-entered that band briefly between their releases Breaker and Restless and Wild.

He joined the band officially in May 2009 as Udo Dirkschneider's replacement, and has appeared on two albums with them to date: Blood of the Nations (2010) and Stalingrad (2012).
